Angel's Guilt Pleasures -1/16 - Author & Character Interview
Hello and Welcome

I’d like to welcome Julia Mills and Aaron O’Brien.. Congratulations Julia Mills on your release of Only For Her Dragon.

Julia, first, why don't you tell us a little bit about the story? We won't give it all away yet, just a peek.
Aaron is the last of his Force, an elite squad of warrior dragon shifters, to find his mate. He fought it, even avoided Charlie, aka Dr. Charlene Gallagher, for as long as he could but Fate will not be denied. They are trying to make it work the best way they know how, a dragon shifter and his human mate...or is she?
It's so nice to have you here too, Aaron O’Brien. So, tell me, what do you think of Julia your author and how did you convince her to tell your story?
Well, I tried to give her by best smile and wink but she wasn't having any of it. My author's a tough southern girl with a wicked sense of humor. She made me wait to be the last of mt brethren to have my story told. Feeding me some story about saving the best for last. Now, that we are kicking ass and taking names, I believe she was right. To tell the truth, I think she just got tired of hearing me in her head. Now, we are having a blast! Julia, Charlie and I are a good team! Y'all are gonna love this story!

Tell us a little about the Dragon Guardsmen? What do they do? Why where they created?
The Dragon Guard came about in Arthurian times. Dragons were being hunted by wizards and hunters, their lairs being decimated by the growing population...they were facing extinction. The Kings of all the Clans had fought beside King Arthur and his knights for many years. They knew the knights were men of high regard with the same values the dragons possessed. Twelve the Knights of the Round Table agreed to have one of the souls of the twelve Dragon Kings combined with their own.  A powerful mage was called in and the ceremony was performed. Thus the Dragon Guard was born!

What’s it like being the last bachelor in the Force of elite Dragon Guardsmen? I must admit it had its benefits for a while. I was free to come and go, could tease my brethren all I wanted for their newfound softer sides and had gained five amazing sisters-in-law, I think you humans call them. But it also got old. Truly, I was sure I wasn't going to have a mate. I mean, I'd heard all the stories about a mate for every Guardsman and all that good stuff but figured it just wasn't gonna happen for me. After all, my twin already has his mate and I hadn't even had an inkling of mine. Of course, that all changed in a BIG way.

So tell me about your love interest in Only For Her Dragon. How did you meet? Well, not to sound like a big marshmallow but Charlie is AMAZING! She is everything I could ever want. She's gorgeous, smart, intuitive, sassy, doesn't take my shit. She is an amazing doctor, loyal best friend. She's the perfect mate for me. The Universe knocked it outta the park when She created my girl.

Please share with us your First Kiss with Dr. Charlene Gallagher? It was like nothing I;d ever experienced and I'm a hundred years old. I could feel her soul touch mine. All the stories were right but could never have prepared for the way she became part of me the instant out lips touched. Of course, we didn't get to finish it. Devon one of my brethren had a hell of an emergency. Put out the all call and off I ran. Against my orders Charlie followed and all hell broke loose. You need to talk to Dev and Anya about that...not my story to tell.

Now Julia what was your favorite part of the story to write? Did any scene have you crying or laughing while writing it? When Aaron took Charlie to the lair the first time. All the Guardsmen and their mates gave Aaron a rash of crap. I laughed and laughed writing that scene. Also the mating ceremony...everyone I write may have the same holy words but actually getting to imagine is just a blast for me!

Which of your prior characters would you most/least likely invite to dinner and why? Royce and Kyra, from For the Love of Her Dragon. Royce is the oldest and had to swallow so much of his pride and arrogance when he met Kyra. And Kyra is such a ball of energy and sass. A powerful white witch with a heart of gold.

All my Book finds - 1/16 - Author Interview
Thank you for taking the time for the interview. Please answer the following questions; you also have the option of changing some questions if you feel that you would be more at ease with other questions, or just answering a min of 15.

Author Name:

Did you always wanted to be a writer? If not what did you want to be? I've had a story to tell! I have a vivid imagination that never quits. Other than writing I would like to be a veterinarian.

When did you first consider yourself a “writer”? I still don't LOL. I think I'm a storyteller. I weave a good tale and then have amazing proofreader, editor and assistant that clean it all up and make it presentable for y'all.

How long did it take to get your first book published? Six months, I kept changing my mind.

Do you do another job except for writing and can you tell us more about it? I don't anymore. I am blessed to be able to write full time.

What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say? Only for Her Dragon. Fate has a funny of always getting what She wants. You can run, even try to hide but She will win. And when she does you will find your heart's desire.
Who is your publisher? Or do you self-publish? Self-Publish

How long does it usually take you to write a book, from the original idea to finishing writing it? Two month is my average from idea to published book.

What can we expect from you in the future? ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre? I will probably always write Paranormal Romance. I LOVE that genre and the freedom it gives me as a storyteller. I have more dragons to come, some other species of shifters with some very unique problems, werepanthers and a very persistent 2000 year old vampire that thinks the world needs his story. I am also working on two children's books and a YA romance.
What genre would you place your books into? Paranormal Romance

What made you decide to write that genre of book? I LOVE a good romance and the freedom that paranormal gives me to do practically anything I can imagine is AWESOME.
Do you have a favorite character from your books? And why are they your favorite? I LOVE THEM ALL! They are all piece of me and the people that have impacted my world.

How long have you been writing?, and who or what inspired you to write? I have always told stories. As for actually writing them down and sharing them that only happened about two years ago. I have a very dear friend who also happens to be my writing partner, Emma Edwards, who encouraged me to show my stories to the world. It took a bit of time but she was convincing and here I am. My inspiration has always been my mom, my dad, my daughters and my grandmothers. My mom and my grandmothers were avid readers and fed my love of books. My daughters are the best people I know. And my dad always said I could do anything I put my mind to.
Do you have a certain routine you have for writing? ie You listen to music, sit in a certain chair? I sit at my desk, type on an old desktop that I baby to keep alive. Have either music or the TV on because I need the moise. I have to have Diet Pepsi and something sweet to snack on and I'm good to go!

Do you read all the reviews of your book/books? Yeah I do. I learn from even the one stars. I appreciate that people take their time to tell me what they liked, didn't like or how they think they could be better.

Do you choose a title first, or write the book then choose the title? I have to have the title first.
How do you come up with characters names and place names in your books? The names are fun for me. I look at the meanings and make sure they reflect the qualities of the character. With the couples it has to sound good together when I say it out loud. I know, I know... I'm a goof but hey, I have fun!
Are character names and place names decided after their creation? Or do you pick a character/place name and then invent them? It kind of all comes together. I think of the character and then have to find a name for them which leads me to where they are and where their story will take place.

Do you decide on character traits (ie shy, quiet, tomboy girl) before writing the whole book or as you go along? I know the basic characters up front but their true personality comes out as they develop through the story.
Are there any hidden messages or morals contained in your books? (Morals as in like Aesops Fables type of "The moral of this story is..") Yeah, there are. Fate will not be denied is the series tagline but it is also a basic belief of mine combined with a guiding hand of some sort. It could be God, the Universe, the Mother Goddess, Fate, Destiny, whatever you believe...something/someone has plan. We have freewill and every decision can change the outcome but the underlying plan is ever present.

Which format of book do you prefer, eBook, hardback, or paperback? ebook

What is your favorite book and Why? Have you read it more than once? Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Suess. I still read it.
Do you think books transfer to movies well? Which is you favorite/worst book to movie transfer?

Your favorite food is? Tex-Mex

Your favorite singer/group is?

Your favorite color is? Red

Your favorite Author is?

Once again thank you for the interview.

1: Where did your love for all things Dragon come from? They are just AWESOME! They are majestic, loyal, fierce, larger than life and I always thought they needed to be the heroes, not the villains.

2: Romance - can you name your most favorite romantic gestures shown to you? Simple touches, little kisses for now reason...those mean the most.
3: Reviews: Is there any particular way you love to see reviews written in (obviously 5 star reviews are a given :p ) I really appreciate the ones that contain constructive criticism. I want to get better with everything I write and I can only do that with feedback.

I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy!   I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it.   Website: http://www.juliamillsauthor.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JLakeMills?ref=hl Twitter: https://twitter.com/JuliaMills623 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/juliamills623/   WLK Giveaway 1st prize - $50 Amazon Gift Card, 2nd prize – Dragon Guards 1-5 signed paperbacks 3rd prize - full size Only for Her Dragon tote and swag a Rafflecopter giveaway
